Mahindra Bolero
Compared to what we see on the road nowadays, the Bolero appears to be cheap and crude, but numbers say a different story. It is by far the best selling SUV in India. The cost of ownership is seriously low and its popularity stems from being practical.
The new Fuel Smart drives home the Bolero's money saving advantage , but the improvement in the 2.5 litre engine's inherently good fuel efficiency is not what I had hoped for. I wish that more fuel efficiency had been achieved by fine tuning the start/stop system.
On the comfort level, though the SUV can seat seven it is not very spacious and comfortable. The interior is also of a rather poor quality.
The performance isn't bad in the city, but for a SUV it is too much out of breath on the highways. Also , there is no ABS and airbags and no seat belts in the rear either.
