Inside the Cabin
The Maruti Ertiga falls really short of its competitors in this space. The cabin doesn’t offer much space and the third row is very cramped. The ground clearance is decent at 185mm.
Mobilio on the other hand is continuing the tradition of offering lots of space like its older models like Jazz. The company has flexible seats like plenty of cubbyholes to store knick-knacks. Inspite of the height being 80mm less than that of the Ertiga, the Mobilio offers ample seating space and sufficient headroom. The third row also has sufficient space to make long drives comfortable.

Another plus point is the boot space, which is also quite generous compared to the Ertiga. The ground clearance is kept at 189mm, which is a benefit for Indian road conditions.
Proportion wise, Toyota’s Innova is a game-changer. It has the largest dimensions though its ground clearance is the least at 176mm. Due to the large proportions it obviously offers excellent leg space but the overall size of the car makes it difficult to maneuver in the city traffic.

Out of your pocket
Toyota is at the highest end of the spectrum with the price range being 12.93 lacs to 15.66 lacs. Despite of the expensive price tag it remains the favorite of the masses till date.
After the debacle with the Jazz, Honda has now got the knack of pricing its models and the Mobilio has been priced between the Ertiga and the Innova. This smart pricing will help it lure customers from both ends of the spectrum. The car is expected to be priced from Rs. 6.8 lac onwards.

The Ertiga is at the bottom of the pyramid with the price range being Rs. 5.95 -8.32 lacs. Maruti’s vast after sale and service network is a big selling point for the Ertiga. Also, the small price tag is a good attraction for people looking at utility and not much worried about the brand image, looks and the premium feel.
Final Verdict
The Mobilio may have the smallest dimensions but it is a powerful offering from Honda’s stable. Expect it to shake up the market with the strikingly good looks, comfortable seating, best in class mileage and competitive price tag. The competitors should beware of the newcomer and start strategizing their comebacks.
